Default Giant bolt stuck in tire tread....

So I ran over a large bolt, and now it is subsequently stuck in my tread. The head of said bolt is about the size of a nickle. It is sticking out above the tread. There is a obvious thumping when driving. My question....am I ok driving the 3 miles to the local tire shop to get it patched?

You're screwed :-) Probably OK to drive 3 miles. Worse case is it pops out on the way.

Could the tire pop? I'm worried that the driving will "push" the bolt deeper in, causing a blow out.

Default it's three miles....the tire is already screwed and i'm sure you have run flat tires on. in worst

case, drive to the tire shop and if you get a flat, put the spare on.

really no biggie in my opinion.

No drawback to "patching" correct?

hmm...i wouldn't think that z rated tires really have the tendency to blow..just drive slow.

Default if the bolt head was the size of a nickle...i would replace the whole tire. i'm sure you drive

triple digit speeds from time to time, so i would not want to put my faith in a patch job.

After patching, I'd never exceed 100 mph. Better off replacing the tire IMO.

Default Reminds me of the 6 inch allen wrench that I found in my RR tire a month ago!

I patched that one successfully, so you should be fine.
