Default Going to pressure test for the first time tonight....

2000 6-spd I just completed the engine reinstall on. Anything I should be aware of?

I know that my pressure tester may pop off so I'll prepare for that.

I bought a 2hp 2 gal motorized compressor from Northern Tools for $70. Should be good right?

Do I need to pop off the small y-pipe connector on the Driverside and plug it?

Finally, the radiator is not on yet. It's ok to test like that right?

Plug that line, and the radiator won't matter. Go to 20lbs and hold. Listen carefully.

Default I don't have a regulator yet,(need one) so i just put 20psi in my tank, and..

Plug it into the system, and but 20psi in the go through the system fast enough i can only listen for leaks a few seconds. Does this sound right? Will any regulater work i guess?

Default well you need a regulator..BUT..what u can do is fill up the sytem with air..

then disconnect the air line from the pressure tester (while still leaving the pressure tester ON) and then just plug the end of it with your thumb or whatever, then see if the sytsem holds air.

Default With the oil cap on it you end up burning off oil that gets pushed into the exhaust...also...

You should only need 10-15psi for the pressure test. And yeah, just run the compressor up to 15 and turn it off.

Test the system again after a week of running boost.

Default Watch out for the adapter popping off the y-pipe and shooting across the garage.

Tighten it down really well and then maybe get some string to hold it down even more.

Wear safety glasses too just in case.
