Default A good service experience, if anyone is interested (long)...

I took my car in last week for 10k service and about 12 other items that I wanted addressed (I think I posted that list a while ago). I was kinda frustrated when they gave me a '98 p.o.s. ford escort rental car, considering that I had figured my car would be in service for at least 3-4 days to fix all the problems. Only 3 hours or so after dropping the car off, the service rep called be back to say it was finished. I started to ask about some of the problems and how they were addressed, but was told that everything checked out fine and my car was ready to go. So I got in the escort and drove back to the dealer. The S4 that I got back into was in the exact same condition when I dropped it off. They didn't even use the oil I provided (which make me wonder if they even changed the oil at all). Only 9 out of the 12 issues were addressed/remedied. I didn't realize how bad I got screwed until I made it home - at which time I was pissed beyond words. I called the dealer and asked to talk to the head service manager. I made an appointment to come back in and talk to him about the [lack of] service I had received. Well, yesterday I went in and was treated with total respect and understanding. The manager apologized for not addressing any of the issues with proper attention, and he even rode around with me for a 1/2 hour, while we took turns driving and I showed him every single discrepancy on my list. He was the epitome of what I think a service manager should be and how one should act. My car goes in again next week for [actual] service, at which time the service manager himself will take the car out with the technician to demonstrate and discuss each and every problem. Just a couple days ago, I was ready to set my car on fire and drive it off a cliff. Now, I love the thing like the day I drove it off the lot - all thanks to some respect and customer service. If anyone is interested in which dealer I visited (soCal), get a hold of me and I will let you know.

Default cool upside to it...at least you didn't act like a total a$$...some people would have started.....

ranting...good job man. It's nice to run into someone at the dealer that actually cares.

Default This shows that the Service experience may be more important than the quality of the car itself.

It seems that very few auto brands / dealers have that figured out.

Default Good idea, infact if anyone has interest i was thinking...

someone could start a webpage based on dealer ratings and comments, you could rate a dealer, post stories etc, even drop a little email to the dealers with the link. It may encourage them to increase their service attitude.

Default infact, if it was audiworld run(like registry), AW could maybe award a plaque to the highest rated

in each state or something like that.

Would be very cool dealers would like that cause they could brag the crap out of it and anyone who already knew about audiworld would be impressed.

I wouldn't count that as a good experience until the stuff actually gets fixed, talk is cheap.

I like the idea of knowing which dealers suck and which ones don't. A registry of them would be awesome where we can rate them etc. I can rate my teachers here at my college, so why not be able to rate dealers here on Audi wworld on service etc. The only problem with things like that when someone has a problem they will say it but when someone had great service they may not. I worked in Deskside Computer Service last summer and those quality surveys would go out at random.
People that had great service 9 times out of 10 wouldnt say a thing. People that had bad service on the other hand would defineatly say when they did. Some good dealers may be left out of the mix. I still think a rating site would be very helpful.
