Grrr...nail in the tire. Can the tire be repaired or do I have to buy a new one? Only 500 miles.

I agree. Same happened to one of my tires. Plugged it and ran it down to the wear bars. No problem.

Default As long as the hole isn't too close to the sidewall, any good tire shop

can patch it up. Unfortunately right at the sidewall to thread junction, the movement and flex creates leak issues for most patches

Thanks guys. How much will the repair cost me? If it is close to a new tire, I may just buy one.

Default i had 3 of those (different tires) on the stock set before i finally got new ones....(more)

Les Schwab (western tire retailer) repaired em all for free...and did it the right way - took the tire off the rim, repaired it from the inside with adhesive and a patch

I have had garages repair on older cars with a plug from the outside...worked, but that wasn't an S4...See what you can get - probably better off going to a tire place than a local garage is all...but either way should never be more than $20.

Default Pick up some tire plugs......

go down to the local auto store, and pick up a tire plug kit and a pair of pilers you can leave in the spare tire well. i used to get flats all the time from the job sites. I found it cost effective to plug them myself. But hey, thats just me......
