GS D3 vs. PS2... PS2 worth the extra $$$?
#6
IMHO, no. If you want the best of the best in terms of performance and quality get the PS2. But...
...for me, it's overkill at that price. The GS D3s are first-rate tires too.
I'd get the GS D3s for $280 less.

Yes!! I have GSD3s. Just spent 3 month of trouble shooting tire...
pull and I have finally given up. For all my trouble Good Year just gave me 60% of what they cost me. I tried for 100% from the shop or a trade for adifferant tire, but couldn't get any where with them. Guess what tires are on there way now?? ya, what I should have started with. Would have saved money overall. PS2s here I come!

Can't possibly imagine so...
...the performance tests on them done at tirerack are virtually a dead heat, with PS2's doing better at the dry slalom where transitional inputs are important and the GS-D3's doing better in the wet with a better ride due to a softer sidewall. If the PS2's lasted longer for their increased cost that would be a consideration, but I haven't seen any evidence that that's the case. I'll be getting another set of GS-D3's in a couple months, and a second set of the same kind of tires will be a first on my S4.
