Guys approaching the 50k mileage mark......(or have already passed it)....warranty question.
My 01.5 S has about 40k miles, but the 3 year warranty will end at the begining of next year. I am interested in an extended warranty, if even possible.
Can a get an extended warranty from the dealer? Or do I have go thru a 3rd party warranty company?

I believe you have both options... although I am not ...
..100% sure. I bought mine Audi Assured, extending my warranty through 75K. I don't know that much about 3rd party warranties and how that works. I would call and ask your dealer about Audi's extended warranty options. Do a search with respect to 3rd party info.

I have an aftermarket one that is very good (more)...
It is through www.extendedautowarrantycorp.com
They are great! It cost me $1600 for 4 years or 48K miles. If I had gotten the warranty when my car was still under the factory one it would have been cheaper and covered more. They have already replaced several things which have totaled more than the $1600 plus they have agreed to replace my tranny which is going to be a $5K job easy.
