Had a great conversation with Jeff at Velocity today...
It turns out their new website will be live within a few days with a full product catalog, and already has a bunch of content including FAQs. He confirmed the new GIAC chips will be out in a few weeks, and they'll use a key fob as a switching device. He mentioned the standard program, a race program (for 100 octane gas), and a possibly a valet (limits power I assume) and lockout (makes car undriveable) program. I also found out that Velocity is a Stoptech and Brembo reseller, and of course they are a Volk dealer. In addition to this they sell suspension, exhaust, sway bars, etc. I wanted to post this because I was unaware of how many products they sold.
For those in SoCal, you already know how good the service is at Velocity. Jeff is very knowledgeable and is a real car enthusiast. I have always found thier shop to be great. For those outside of SoCal, I suggest calling Velocity and talking to Jeff if you need chips or other parts. In the past their prices have tended to be higher, which deterred me from buying some items from them, but that is because they don't check competitor prices regularly. Jeff mentioned they will deal on parts (not give them away for free though), call him and tell him what you can buy it for and he'll see what he can do. He also mentioned groups buys, for those that are interested.
I'm not affiliated with Velocity in any way, other than the fact that I bought my chip and exhaust from them. I still speak with Jeff on a semi-regular basis though, and will actually take my car there to set up my VAG Tool to try and find the problem I'm been having. I know many people have had the pleasure of dealing with them, they really are a great shop for purchase and installation.
For those who want to see one of the Brembo kits they sell. here's a pic:
