I hate to break it to you, but there IS no replacement for displacement.
You can always get more power out of a larger engine. However, some cars are just easier to mod than others (such as the B5 S4.)

agree...there isn't. its always harder to get more with less, and even if you do it feels different
but for me it feels different in a good way.
an exageration would be a 400hp GTO vs. a 300HP STI...differnt feeling comletley but both are low 13s in the 1/4
