Hard-wired V1.. comments.
Got my S4 yesterday (woo-hoo) and hard-wired my V1 radar detector today. Just wanted to make a couple comments on the faq (https://www.audiworld.com/faq/faq_elec/faq104.shtml)
The faq states to install a spade connector on the positive end, and an o-ring connector to the ground. I didn't need to do either.. the connectors that came with the power adapter worked just fine. The positive connector slid into the slot and stayed quite nicely, and I was able to fit the ground over a smaller bolt towards the bottom of the fuse panel.
The faq also recommends loosely wrapping some electrical tape around the power cord, but I found that double-sided tape (the thick spongy stuff) worked much better. Filled the gap between the windshield and headliner quite nicely.
Oh well.. just my $.02. Only 900 more miles to go before I'm able to enjoy it 8^)
