hardwiring the escort 8500 tomorrow. Any ideas on where to put the display?

ya thats what i was talking about. Sorry should've specified.
I'm putting the actual radar above and to the left of the rear view mirror. Just could find a good place for the seperate display.

I used the Escort Clip....
and put it just above the drivers side of the rear view window. It shows up a bit in the mirror but doesn't block anything. I clipped it onto the roof where it meets the window.
For a while I had it at the top of the passenger side of the window but that didn't allow a passenger to pull down the visor.

dont use it. use any old phone cord you have instead.--->
use some phone line, plug one end into your detector, strip the other ends and tap into the wires for your auto dimming rearview mirror. thats what i did, i have no mute button except on the detector itself, but so what. it took 10 minutes, and is 100% reversible. i put my detector just to the left of my rearview, at the top of my windshield, and im loving it. i agree that the suction cups suck, and i put the phone cable in a loop around the stem to the mirror so if it pops off the windshield it wont pull apart my connections. i dont miss the lights or mute button at all, i just listen to my detector anyway.
