Default there have been plenty of mechanical failures on various dynos

in the 2.7t world. some of those were turbos. doubtful many of the involved parties will want to talk about it much

There was a video of an NSX blowing it's engine. That was painful to watch.

Default This touches on something I have been curious about. Why is

pushing a car on the dyno more dangerous to your car's health than pushing it the same way on the street? Maybe it's not, but it seems I've heard so many stories...

Default i could be wrong, but apparently (depending on the dyno type) theres more resistance to spin the

rollers than there would be to propel the car forward on teh road, putting more of a load on the motor.

thats just the way i understood it though, and it could be utterly wrong

Default I was thinking this, too. Weird, though, since it seems the resistance on

a dyno could be made to be less than the resistance of propelling a 3600 lb load... You're probably right, though. I might have more insight if I had stuck with Mechanical Engineering... alas, Business fit my drinking and skipping class lifestyle much better...
