Default Has anyone ACTUALLY failed a tip tranny b/c of too much torque?

Just curious, I've got a 6spd, but perhaps my heart shouldn't be going out to the tip folks as often as it does.

I know an Audi Dealership Service Manager and he says there are many tip failures.

uh oh. i got a 93 oct APR. uh oh well, i hope tip chip and 00032 help prevent this

but then again, it might be

I think the limit is placed by the torque converter, not the programming.

Well from what I've heard if you want to destroy your tip tranny after you chip it, just run the quarter on slicks all the time or get some really wide tires. Supposedly the max torque rating is for 100% drivetrain lockup? I dunno...

but then again, guys with heavily modded tips don't hang out here either.

Default I wouldn't worry about it...

many of us tip guys wail on our trannies and have not had any problems

Blooscoos is running a Stage 3 MTM setup and says he's had no problems so far... I'm more worried about my K03s.
