Has anyone considered/developed/discarded a motorcycle-style sequential shift lever?

Something like what you see in rally racing or Rolex DP cars, where you simply push forward or pull backward to change gears. Obviously, you couldn't skip gears, but I tend not to do that on the street or on the track.
I'm not sure if those setups are clutchless, and I doubt that I'd care either way (keeping the clutch would be the much easier mod, obviously). I think that you could eliminate mis-shifts that way.
Anyway, maybe Istook or Champion developed them for the race cars, but has it gone further than that? I don't recall whether those cars used them anyway...

Interesting. Just sent them an email about their V.A.G. 6-speed synchro setup.
I wonder if it would work on our cars? I'd want it to fit under the stock shift boot, though. Still a street car for me...

LOL - I just left-clicked on the picture on their site, opening a new window.
I right-clicked on that new window, clicked on properties, and copied the URL to post here.
