Default Has anyone traded in a modded S4 to the Audi dealer?

Do they care about stuff like painted calipers and that kind of stuff? I would assume that stuff like exhausts and chips would be a problem, but what about aesthetic stuff that has no effect on the car's performance or reliability?

Default well...

when you sign the disclousure agreement that you havent altered the emissions equipment, you BETTER be telling the truth.

Mods on an S4 will devalue it and hurt it's trade-in...since those systems are automatically warranty-voided as per AoA, what would be the "value" to a buyer off the street?

Put your car back stock if you are going to trade it in. It isnt for YOU to say if it effects "performance or reliability" the dealer will have you over a barrel.

Painted calipers are about the only thing that they wouldn't care about I would think. I traded in a car debadged and that didn't bother them either.

Default OK. Sounds cool...

I have been keeping all my mods in the "can be put back to stock" realm. I kept my stock exhaust and springs and my chip is easily swapped out, along with my boost guage. The first thing i have considered doing that would be a PITA to reverse would be painting the calipers. I just LOVE the little bit of flair it adds to the car. I think my silver car with red calipers would be sweet since the red on the calipers would complement the little bit of red on the S4 badge and add to the sporty look of the car.

Default yea I'm sure you'd be fine with that...

they just don't want to deal with any aftermarket stuff...paint on the calipers really wouldn't apply.

Default Bonus! I think that pushed me over the edge to paint my calipers.

I just needed the tiniest bit of reassurance.

Oh ya, and now I need to find a place to do it and some jacks to use. blah!

"Ford Red" is a good match for the red in the badge
