Default Heatshield Like Rattle from 800-2000 rpms

Sounds like a heatshield rattling towards the front of the car. I checked all accessible heatshields which appear ok. Most pronounced when the car is warming up. I have a busted passenger motor mount. Could this be the cause? Any other suggestions on what to do, it's driving me nuts!?

Default Did you inspect the turbo/downpipe heatshields from underneath?

There's not much clearance around them.

Default 2nd, jack up the car, crawl under and inspect carefully

I had the same problem, when the car warmed up, the rattle started, drove me nuts. I found the problem, downpipe was rubbing on the heatshield. Barely touching, I simply push on it using some screwdriver, heatshield is very soft metal, easy to bend, be careful.

DON'T forget a jack stand!!! Do not go under your car with a jack only.

Default Could be one of the tabs on the heatshield that broke to cause that rattle

You can get a long screw driver and bend it so its not touching anything.

Default Will check again

I did check these heatshields, but will pay closer attention to them. Everything seemed to have enough clearance.
