Toastytacco49 , Yesterday 11:44 PMso I have a 2001 Audi s4 I've had the car for about 7 mounts now and I noticed that my coolant was geting low (started about a mount and a half ago) just found out where the leck was, it was one of the rear coolant lines. Working on get that line but recently I've noticed that the coolant was dropping faster, just a few days ago I parked my car overnight and got back into it the next morning and tried to start the motor it felt like it was locked up ( the start was engaging and trying to crank but motor wouldn't turn over) after a few tries it car started right up but with a cylinder 4 misfire. The miss fire will clear after about 15-20 seconds but when you go down the road when the motor is still a little cold and goes into boost a little I saw white smoke so I gave it a little more gas and even more white smoke came out the exhaust ( I usely let the motor get to operating temperature before I go into boost but this was for testing purposes). After the car is warmed up it runs like it should no smoke noting. I was thinking a head gasket was letting water in cylinder 4 overnight and causing the motor to lock up but if that was the case then wouldn't the car be smoking all the time even when warmed up? Then I was thinking about a cracked head letting coolant in when cold and sealing back up when the headed to operating temperature. The car will lock up about 5/10 after siting overnight. I've checked the oil and no sign of water in the oil and coolant looks to be normal besides being some what low, I will have to fill the reservoir every 4-6 days. Sry if I didn't get enough details if I didn't let me know and I'll try and give more
