HELP! Center armrest stuck in the "up" #@$#^%&*#@%^@#%^!!!
ANybody have any suggestions? I've tried every combination of pushing, pulling etc.
My guess is either a.) the mechanism between the button on the front of the console and the hinge is busted (but only on one side- the driver's side seems to have more resistance) or b.) some tiny bit od crap fell through a hole somewhere and jammed in the ratcheting hinge thingy.
I can't even figure out how to remove the thing so I can take it apart- or for that matter how to get it apart.
Grrrrr.

Been there done that >>>>>
I took the whole stupid thing apart to figure it out but the simple fact is the failures are a little piece of plastic on the ends of the release handle that break off inside, a
really lame design.
You cannot buy the piece, only the entire armrest.
Getting it apart intact is near impossible because there are about 20 tiny
screws covered by a liner inside the armrest, they are impossible to find and get out.
And you still cannot get the part so don't bother.
But
If you drill 2 tiny holes in just the right spot you can insert a pin on either side and release the armrest.
I keep 2 small drill bits or paper clips in my console.
Hope this helps

So, if I pull out the liner, I can take it apart?
I guess if I can get it to release, I'd just remove the whole mechanism- I never put it up, except to get at the cup holders underneath, and even then, rarely.
OR, does anybody have a cheap armrest for sale?
(of course, then I have to get it out)
I'll ask the dealer, but I'm sure they'll want some ridiculous price to replace it.

the screws you want to get are "the suk">>>>
tiny phillips head screws under the SIDE liner inside the armrest.
Mine were all covered in the liner glue and just stripped out, really a bummer.
My advice would be to just drill 1 small hole on the side you feel is broken.
It is not worth it to take it apart IMO
good luck
