Default HELP!!!! has anyone with an aftermarket suspension had to have it checked out and "tightened" a

year after it was installed???

My front right corner is making a clunking sound over bumps and I'm dreading what I think it is:

When the suspension was first installed, I guess the top nut on the front left wasn't tightened all the way and after driving with it for a couple weeks, the clunking sound got bad and it was because the loose nut let the shaft oval-out the "mounting piece". Stasis thought it was because the washer that goes just below the nut wasn't installed, but it was. Obviously I don't know the correct part names, but looking at the pic, you get the idea.

To "fix" that situation, the installer put some thick washers above and below the wount piece thus creating a circle again. The mount piece is still ovalled.

Well, now I'm getting the same sound on the right. It is typical for parts to loosen up and require tightening??

Also, it would be great if someone could tell me the official term of the "mounts" and the part number.

Thanks a lot.

Default I have the same clunking noise. Sounds like...

loose metal piece hitting something, right? And only happens when going over bumps or uneven pavement?

I have H&R coilovers and I wonder if something similar is loose on mine, too??!!

Default however, are you sure it's the stasis?

some told me it's a bad control arm. You might want to double check that, too.

Default Had the same thing when my suspension was installed. It was the upper mounts

or something like that. It just wasn't seated correctly. I'd have Rosario or someone like him take a look at it before you completely panic.

Default here is the exact piece (thanks Frank!):

Default Official terms and order from Bentley:

From top, this is the order of the pieces onto the shaft:

1. "nut" - says "always replace". I think they reused mine.

2. "suspension strut mount" (black rubber/plastic piece)

3. "washer"

4. "Upper Spring Plate" (Silver piece)

Default I had the exact same thing happen to me.

The recommended tightening of that top nut with just an air gun didn't get it all the way down and I had some bad clunking noises. What I did on mine was cut a slot in a hex bolt to hold the tab from moving while I used an open socket wrench. It almost looks like your suspension doesn't have that tab though, so just getting an air gun to tighten it down should work.
