Help please. Stated 60+ litre fuel capacity, I can only fill up about 50 litres when empty.
Anyone else experience this? I doubt there is 10 litres of fuel in the lines. I have never come close to filling up the stated capacity and I have driven to 0 or 10 kilometres left on the trip computer and needle saying I'm way below Empty.
Anyone know how it draw fuel from the other half of the horse shoe or saddle design of the actual fuel tank? I wonder if the problem is that there is 10+ litres of fuel sitting in the tank still and it's not being pumped and it's not showing up as available to the fuel sender unit.

There's still gas in the car when the trip computer reads 0
There's 1.9 gallons reserve, I think. I don't know if that 1.9 remaining when it hits 0, or when the gas light comes on. Nonetheless, I've driven at least 20-40 miles after hitting 0. Also, most gas pumps will shut off before you're completely full. If you go really slow until you see gas, you'll fit an extra gallon or two after the auto shutoff. Search here and you'll see some got as much as 18 gallons in the tank

Cool. I've driven until empty (ran out of gas and stalled on road) on a test...
When I filled up it was still only 13 gallons. So this must be fuel pump auto shut off related.

Topping up the tank like that compromises the ability of the charcoal filter
in the gas tank cap to work properly. There are some really nasty (=cytotoxic) compounds contained in petroleum vapour, that's why there are those elaborate vapour recovery systems in use at gas stations. You really don't want to risk breathing in any more of those than you have to IMHO.
