Default Ran over tire on hwy

It was about 3am and it was dark as hell.. I tried to avoid it but I still caught some of it. It tattoed the lower back part of the car.. Right behind the passenger side front of the wheel well... Its the part that has this rubber protective film.. I have tried everything I know of to take the tire marks out.. Any ideas as to what will remove it off that rubber film??

Default You mean the plastic thing on the rocker panel? You can try goof off.

then make sure you wash and wax it good.

Default Actually...

I think it's called Goo Gone, and most major grocery chains carry it, as do home stores.

Default It's just odorless mineral spirits with lemon scent added - same thing as charcoal lighter fluid or

mineral spirits paint thinner (make sure it says 100% Mineral Spirits), only these smell like solvent. Could also try 3M adhesive remover. Use only light pressure and then wash and WAX afterwards. Good luck!

You can also use Gasoline... just make sure to clean, and wax it right after you use it.

Default No it is called Goof Off, but yes there is GooGone also.

It is an Acetone base IIRC so you only use it on your paint if all else fails. It strips the wax, but works real well on nasty road tar.

A little dab of Chrome polish on a damp cloth should do it, rise&wax after..
