Default Here's one for you diagnostic gurus. I have a loud noise coming from the right rear of my car.

Sounds like really bad tire noise (kind of whirs) and at its peak it vibrates enough to rattle something plastic near the door (very high frequency vibration). You can start to hear it at around 40 and it's worst from 50-55.

Am I describing a dying wheel bearing? What else could it be? Do our cars eat wheel bearings?

TIA!

At 70k I've already had two right-rear bearings replaced.

Default Wheel Bearing

I'm at 69K miles now. I've had 1 front and 2 rear replaced so far, and right now the other front is going. My uncle manafactures bearings and said that he'd never get an AWD vehicle because they just eat through wheels bearings-guess he's right.
