Straight up, what is the QUICKEST way you've been in your S4 (audi content baby) from MA (near I95 near RI) to Long Island? tried mapquest, but don't like their way.

Default 90W to 84W to 91S to 95S... and however you want to go from there.

I can do NYC in less than three hours going that way -- its a lot longer going 95 the whole way or taking 84 all the way to NY and then heading south.

Pick your own route to long island from there...

Default I take the Mass Pike to I-84 to I-91 to Rt. 15 (W. Cross Pkwy - Merritt Pkwy) to the Hutchinson Pkwy

The Hutch will take you over the Whitestone bridge into Queens, or switch over the Cross Bronx Expressway to get to the GWB or switch over to the Bruckner to get to the Triboro bridge.

Rt. 15 is definitely faster (because of less traffic) and has less cops than 91 and 95. It's also a lot more scenic and fun to drive.

Default They parallel each other. Bridgeport (or just before) is the best place to go.

Although virtually anywhere in MA, you're better off driving to the pike than taking 95.

Default Yeah, I think you can switch over around New Haven or Bridgeport...

and depending on the time of day, it could save you anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. 95 takes all the commercial traffic, whereas the Merritt only has passenger cars, so there is less volume.
