Default what about companies dropping turbos in general? Personally, if Audi is the only company...

left with turbos, I'm fine with that.

Hey the Avantissimo Concept Car has a TT V8. Sounds like Audi still likes turbos to me.

Default Saab, Subaru, Mitsu, Porsche, Lotus, VW, Nissan and ...

many other manufacturers have and will keep the turbo alive.

I wonder if VW and SAab will be the first on that list to drop the turbos in the future?

Default But would that be the last of the turbos for Audi? That would suck, I hope we can still have..

an abundance of replacement parts in the future

Default but what about the turbo cars that are no longer made: RX-7, 300ZX, Supra, Cyclone/Typhoon, Conquest

etc...

Default I'm in favor of the idea

I've never trusted the S4 twin turbo engine. I love the car, but I'm on my second one already because I'm afraid to keep it after the warranty has expired.

If they come up with a V8 with equal or greater horsepower to the present S4, I'll be delighted. I'm on my 8th Audi, and it wasn't until the S4 that any of them had a turbo. I had a turbo Celica All Trac awd (remember those?) blow sky high on me shortly after the warranty expired, and I've been nervous about turbos ever since.

So if the S4 drops the turbos, I'll finally be willing to keep one longer than the 24 months or less it takes me to use up the warranty. I don't drive the S4 because I want to use it as a racer; I just want the quickest awd ski express I can find. I love the A6 4.2, but it's just too big and too expensive.

Default well, have you heard of some of Saab's future plans: the variable compression,

supercharged 1.6 l....THey say it's somewhat revolutionary and alot better than the current line up.
