Default Hi guys.. I need some help/opinions on some cars my friend is looking to purchase...

My friend is looking to a new car soon. So far she is going to check out the 325i, A4 either the B6 or B7 platform, and the volvo s40. I was just wondering if anyone had driven these cars and their opinions on them. The only one I have driven is the 325 and I was not very impressed. Shes not looking to mod or anything like that. She just wants a nice, safe car.

Please feel free to throw out and opinions what you guys would get in this situation. Like I said I havent driven all of them so I can't give her too much info.

Also, any other cars in the price range you guys would reccomend her going out and looking at?

Thanks for the help

Default I would stay away from the B7 just because of the price. If she is looking used a...

B6 2002-2004 A4 aren't bad. I owned a 2002 A4 (B6) and loved it. The 1.8T is gutless though without a chip, so I'd recommend the 3.0. The S-40's are nice, especially the seats, but haven't actually driven one. 325's are all over the place. Every girl in Sac. seems to own one because it's the cool-mobile to have for status. She can look at the Lexus IS300 too...

Default And they have the most comfy seats in the 850. I slept from LA to SAC in the front seat of an 850!

So comfy!

Default my dad has a 02 A4 3.0. very nice and reliable-great car...although i wish that it

was the ultra sport. a used 1.8t ultrasport would probably be a great car for what you're looking for.

Default B7 A4 just kills the 325.....

the new 2.0T is much responsive and peppier than the 1.8...and fit and finish is superb. Just drove one last week and recommned it...especiall over the weaksauce 170 HP 325. S40 looks nice...but never have driven it.
