Default Hmmmm...I don't think I've gone over 6000 rpm in my S4 yet...

I think I've mostly shifted at about 5800 rpm during "spirited" driving, but is that the optimum shift-point w/ the S4?

Don't really know why, but I feel like the car just NEEDS to shift earlier before redline...I mean...the next gear has so much more "thrust" than at redline, am I right?

Well--I'm just a scaredy-cat. Maybe I'll go out driving tonight and test the limits. It's just way to risky in Irvine though--lots of piggies running around!

In the case of drag racing.. always shift to the redline.. LCP can explain this.

Default YEAH! Gone 8 days and back tonight just to hear me being referenced...

...at least run it to redline if your stock and in the first 4 gears. If you're chipped run it to redline in 1st and 2nd, and then a little lower than redline in the higher gears, depending on your chip (some may be at 6000 -- MTM?, while others may be at 6500 -- APR). You don't want to throw away the torque multiplication afforded by using a lower gear just to get the engine in a spot where it's making more torque but multiplying that by less by the time it gets to the wheels in the case of shifting too early.
