How come S4 xenons look like they're not xenons?

Huh?
They look OK to me. I will admit the Audi xenon lights have more of a blue tint when viewing from the side (as in oncomming traffic.) I have also noticed that the BMW 740 xenons seem very bright.
Compared to my previous car, a 98 1.8t, the Audi xenons (Bosch?) are brighter, blue-white rather than yellow(ish) cast, and have a much wider beam side to side.
I noticed while driving on some back roads in PA that I didn't need my brights at all. I feel the S4 lights are a vast improvement over the stock A4.<p>Brian

blue tints
I had heard various things about Audi's vs BMW's vs Lexus'. And whois is whiter/blue/more orange (note oranger isn't a word in the english language, but whiter and blue are, odd).
After much paying attention to Xenons, I have to say they are very close to all the same. They are very white when you are near the center of the pattern, and blue-purple near the edge. The patterns do vary a little, so that matters.
I watched an X5 in the rearview yesterday, and when I was close in front of it, it's lights were white, get farther away, so you are on the edge of the pattern, and they turn blue.
That's just my two cents.

are you kidding?
i think the audi xenons are the most recognizable (and nicest) xenon out there. in fact, at night i can almost always spot a fellow audi just by looking at the xenons. i have noticed one thing though -- the tt's xenons seem to generally look bluer than the others (a4, a6, a8, s4). hmm..
