how difficult is it to adjust toe myself? i'd like to run more toe in for street and zero for track
and the idea of spending $80 each track day to fiddle with toe (when the rest of my alignment settings is fine) just isn't apealing, and i'd rather spend some money on the tools that would allow me to adjust the toe myself.

Toe is the easiest alignment adjustment to make
Crack the jam nut loose on the tie rod end, then rotate the tie rod to get desired effect, and tighten jam nut again. The simplest guage to use is a set of <a href="http://www.longacreracing.com/catalog/item.asp?id=152&catid=5">toe plates</a>.
The pain is jacking the car up, making the adjustment, dropping the car, settling the suspension and then measuring. The track trick is to use a garbage bag folded up four times under each wheel, on a smooth surface like your garage floor. The bags will allow your tires to slide outward when you drop the car back down. That way you won't have to roll your car out and back in each time.
