how does our car fair against an S2000 with exhaust and CAI kit(more)
this evening on my way home, an american muscle car tried to race me...(i dont know what kind of car it is...but all i noticed was it had big wide wheels in the back and it was loud as hell)...well, i took off and left the american car behind, but there was this S2000 creeping behind me. I decided to slow down and see whats up...the S2K was pretty loud(exhaust) and seemed really fast...we played a couple of more time, where i would launch first and he'd follow...ofcourse i would leave him from launch, but it seemed that he always caught up around 60-80 mph...
any input would be appreciated. TIA

Stock for stock, the two cars are pretty even, but the S2000 pulls VERY hard all the way through 4th
Modified, it'll be faster due to both HP increase and weight reduction. Similarly to the S4, the stock S2000 exhaust weighs ~40-50lbs. ANY aftermarket exhaust, especially the single outlet ones, will save significant weight. I've seen Titanium exhaust that only weigh 5lbs and are VERY free flowing (almost race type exhausts), so beating a modded S2000 in a stock S4 will be very tough. Chipped, is a different story.

Aftermarket exhausts for the S2000 are worthless....
The only dyno i've seem that shows any kind of increase is about 3-4 hp. The only benefit would be to save weight.
As far as an S2000 vs. stock S4 they are very close. I have raced my friend in his S2k numerous times. From 0-60 I get an automatic 1 car length jump and hold it to 60 mph. From 60-120mph the 2 cars are also nearly identical. Actually the stock S4 just barely starts to pull ahead in 5th at that speed.
