How hard is it for the dealer to change the mileage on the odometer? (read before flaming)

I took my car in for the 64K service and the car had a lower mileage on the odometer than what was written down when I dropped the car off. Granted the written mileage could be incorrect, but the number written down is what I recall seeing when I dropped it off.

It requires an entirely new gauge pod.

Good, that's what I thought, and wanted to hear.

I guess the written number was incorrect.

Maybe they drove it in reverse.

Bueller?...Bueller?...Bueller?

PSmalls::DoggieStyle 06-03-2004 02:15 PM

RE-VERSE.

My2ndS4 06-03-2004 02:32 PM

...

I was making a reference to the movie Ferris Bueller (sp?), not trying to be an a$$. Maybe "Re-verse" is a quote from the movie also and I'm just retarded?

The odometer can only be adjusted forward. The VAG tool can adjust the mileage.
