how hard is transmission removal on jackstands?

It's not terrible...
I'd suggest dropping the whole subframe. Easiest to get at all the bolts that way, from the bellhousing back. It's a bit of work if you haven't done it before.

it may be just easier to pull the eninge/trans than just the trans, especially on jack stands
i've done both tranny/engine pull and just tranny pull on jackstands and can pull the engine trans together much quicker/easier than the tranny by itself.

you did it piggie way right.. taking out the engine / tranny
leaving in the subframe and the ac compressor with plumbing ?
as of right now i tend to believe that's the easiest/fastest way to do it .. what you think?

2nd. You might save time not pulling the motor, but its waaay more aggravating that
way. And unless I was doing something stupid, you don't save that much time anyway. I'll never do it that way again without a lift.

i've done it three ways...
just engine out
engine tranny out
complete subframe
I can do the first one fastest just because i've done it more. We did the second way last weekend and it worked great. The third way is easy too, you just have to get an alignment after.
