how much im i looking to spend for a timing belt job and which kit should i buy

Default how much im i looking to spend for a timing belt job and which kit should i buy

i saw the one on ecs and there is 2, now if i have already change the water pump ill get the one for 159 but do i need anything else. also i know i need the metal flat bar that goes across from cam shaft to cam shaft, now the question is where could i get one of build one. TIA.

Default personally ..I got it all from the dealer some of the stuff that comes in those kits is not OEM...

also it is suggested that you replace the belt dampener for another $100.

ECS, but make sure to get the hydraulic tensioner also, it's not included.

Default the stuff you are pulling off your car is not made by AUDI, they get parts also.

the stuff ECS sells is the same stuff that AUDI would use on your car.

Default well the price difference is not that much and my shop would not have warrantied the parts anyways..

Originally I was going to go with the kit and take my chances but I decided against it..$100 more and peace of mind or thinking some crap part is going to cause my engine to explode.

audi doesn't make all the parts ..they do put their stamp on other brand parts.
