I took off and drove down to San Luis Obispo this weekend and had a great time driving around.

The drive down on the 101 South from San Francisco was fairly uneventful. I did stop off at Heilmann park in Atascadero to see where the California meet was going to be. Check back soon for a posting on more details about that. The meeting place is perfect.

Anyhow back to San Luis Obispo. Great town, but the odd thing is that I saw only 5 Audis the whole time I was there. 2 of which were fairly recent models. The funny thing was that I was so amazed to see a 2000 model that just by chance happened to be a Santorin I pointed it out to my girlfriend. As I was doing so the driver of the other Audi gave a thumbs up as we passed. My girlfriend did nothing but shake her head and say, "I don't understand you guys and your Audis". Eh some people never learn.

So one of the places that we stopped off was Montana De Oro state park. I highly recommend the visit if you're down that way. On the way out I noticed a very sweet ride... a Pontiac SunFire. What made it so nice was well... you'll figure it out.

and if you're still amazed take a closer look...

Sunday we drove up the 1 from SLO to San Francisco. I had a blast, but my girlfriend had a rougher time with the winding roads.

Just a few photos:

Over all the drive was great. Nice winding road, beautiful scenery, and fairly mellow drivers. It was only when I got back into the bay area that I encountered butt heads and hot rodders. Nothing too bad though.

By the time I got into San Francisco it was around 11pm and while on Sunset in S.F. I got challenged by an Acura something er other (fairly new Legend maybe and it was tricked out of course) along with a riced out Corolla. Both at the same intersection wanted to play. They were no match of course and were left in the dust. Not just once either. They wanted a rematch at another light and faced the same out come.

After dropping off my girlfriend a new MR2 wanted to play. Toasted him off the line and at another intersection he too wanted a rematch. He was pretty pumped and was having a good time. He made me laugh pretty hard. He pulled up next to me for the rematch pumping his hand in the air. He was a good sport, but only caught up to me on the rematch because it was time for me to turn off the road to get home.

Ah all around a super fun day of driving.
