Default I just bought a new ABS unit, $150 from a junkyard. What exactly do i have to do to install just the

controller half (the part with the circuit boards)? Is it just a plug and play type deal or do i have to jump through more hoops to get this thing to work. I've read that you have to readjust the steering wheel sensor and put in some "soft codes" but i think this only applies if you have ESP, which i don't have. TIA

Default If you can connect to your current controller, write down the software coding and part number for

reference.

Default I could help you out with that if you want...

I'm going to be away Thursday through Monday though.

Default My guess is that you can just plug it in. If the light proves out I think you will be ok. If there

is a software issue the light will not go out. You could try plugging up the new/used module up to the harness and cycle the key on to check if it proves out. It does not have to be plugged up to the 2 pin pump motor connector.

Default Give me a call or shoot me an e-mail tomorrow if you want to do it.

I should be around. If not, definitely sometime next week.

Default There is a login and recode that is required. Maybe even a steering sensor recal.

The login and recode are engine/tranny specific. I have the procedure (my tech made me copies of their service manual).

email if you want it.

Default I don't know the full story, etc.

I believe '00 models don't have ESP. No steering wheel sensor, accelerometers, etc.
