Default I just called AoA about winter wheels and snows...

I asked if Audi had a 16 inch alloy wheel that fit the S4 that I could put snows on. Her answer was that they do not recommend snows for the S4 so the answer was no 16" whell is available. Once again product liability concerns take precedence over common sense. While I had them on the phone I asked if she could give me delivery info on my S4. Of course she does not have individual dealer info, quite the state of the art information system.

S4 brochure states: "Installation of all-season or winter tires is recommended for those who frequently drive on ice or snow." Tire Rack says they have nice, inexpensive steel 16-inch wheels as well as alloys that fit, and a selection of appropriate Q and H-rated snow/ice tires.

Default I'll believe Tirerack when the sun rises in the west

They only check bolt circle for fitment, they don't worry about offset and they surely don't have a clue about brakes. The set of wheels I got from them last year required that I take a baseball bat to my rear quarter panels. Get them and try them, then tell us how it went.

Some 17" alloys will not fit over those brakes, dream on with a 16" steel!!!

Default The A6 2.7T has the same front brakes as the S4 and it uses 16" wheels

If you had the money to spend, you could buy the 16" wheels that come on a A6 2.7T, those should fit on the S4 with no problems.

As Matt stated, with no exclamation points, some 16 inch wheels should fit. We're looking at a minus-1 fitment here, not a plus-who-knows-how-many boy- racer exaggeration. I've had perfect fitment and great service from Tire Rack on two different vehicles.

Default TireRack wheels for S4

I spoke to TireRack several weeks ago about 16" wheels for the S4. They told me they have only one alloy wheel in 16" which would fit, the Mille Miglia Spyder. They also said they'd have a 16" steel wheel that would fit.

Obviously, they're taking more than bolt pattern into account, or they would have said ALL their 16" alloys that fit A4 would fit - and that's not what they said.

The told me a fittipaldi wheel in 15" would fit on my old Celica, and it didn't. But they took it back, sent me a Borbet instead and ate the shipping costs all ways.
