I need a few suggestions...
Okay, some of you may have read my other post pertaining to that I have been losing good amount of boost in the higher RPM range---usually above 4.5K--it will tapper from 17-18psi down to like 10-12psi up to redline.
A few days ago, the car started running real funny--like if you had a massive boost leak. The car would only boost to 6psi. I VAGed the car and had an error code "boost deviation" which would suggest a boost leak. I did a pressure test and found no leaks (even pushed it to 15psi on the comressor.)
I just went to go start my car for a test drive--all it does is crank over--it will not start. I have been having this problem for the last few months--when the car got hot, sometimes it would not start---but now the car will not start at all.
I had my buddy who is a electronics designer--makes circuit boards- look at my ECU last time the car would not start---he said some of the solders looked bad from whom ever soldered the chip onto the board--well that would be AMS... So my buddy cleaned up the solder joints and that seemed to fix the no start issue for a few months, but now the problem has come back.. I am just wondering if the AMS chip might be going bad---that would explain the boost related issues and the no start issues. Do you know if AMS would warranty the chip---even though it is a couple of years old--maybe even 4 yrs. old???? Or might it be something else? I am down to not knowing what to do..
Thanks
