I now proclaim my self Pre-Cat Gutting Master.
My first one took me like 3 hours. The second one took me 15 minutes.
If you're in the Nor-Cal area, and need pre-cat's gutted. Call me. I'll charge you two sand paper flapper wheels and a case of beer.
Oh, and the 1/2" x 12" drill bit is the key.
w00t.

The long drill bit is key.
I drilled several holes in the precat. As close to the edges as possible and as close to each other as possible.
After that, I took my 18" cold chissel and took out the space between the holes. This took out the center of the cat.
Then with the smaller chissel, I went down the sides and pried it cat in towards itself breaking it up as I went.
Super easy.
Then the sand paper flapper wheel cleans up what's left.
