i dont like the ipod so i didnt get it, i got the zen touchpad 20gig. i looked up the icelink thing and the hookup is strictly for the ipod, however it looks like the 1g cable would plug into anything with an audio out plug. did anyone use the icelink and hook it up to something different?

Even if you could manage to wire something else to it, there's little point. The icelink allows you to control the ipod using the stereo's CD changer controls. There's no chance the icelink would preserve that functionality with any other player.

If you all want to do is to hook up an mp3 player to the stereo, there are much cheaper alternatives, like Blitzsafe, PIE, etc.
