plug and play. I know, I know, everyone says the Navigation won't work, but thats not what I'm looking at. Will this until work as a radio/cd player/cd changer controller? Also, will the TV function be plug and play here in the States. I'm thinking it would just be nice to use it as a radio with that big screen. What kinds of problems will I face if I import one and try to hook it up. Any advice will help. TIA.

Default It won't w/o some reprogramming. European radios work on a different freq. interval.

Don't know about the TV, though. There is a guy on the vwvortex who has done it. It is a VERY involved process.

Default Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the stations in Europe just use the same frequencies we do plus

the frequencies in between? I know a lot of people buy the European Gamma radios for their VW's and just have to tune through some extra channels.

Also, the guy on the Vortex got the Navigation to work. That is a very involved process, but I don't think this will be. Like I said, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Default FM yes, AM no, TV no

FM frequencies are in 0.05 MHz, in the US in 0.2 MHz. So you will get all FM radio stations.

AM frequencies in Europe are in 9kHz increments, in the US in 10kHz. This means that you will get one in 10 stations.

TV won't work because here we have NTSC, in Europe we have PAL.
