if the rear charcoal canister is bad or damaged can you bypass it? If so how would you go about

If you change anything in the evap system...
be prepared for a perpetual CEL.
The system is monitors itself for flow and vacuum line continuity. It even self tests itself to verify that the test switch changes state. It's the epitome of Al Gore's greenie efforts and big brother keeping an eye on your car.
In a direct answer, no, you can't change the routing of the lines. You could pull out the canister, but to do so requires a cluster**** of line modifications. The system must remain a closed loop no matter what you do
