Default Depends...
1) where do you live?
2) visual test?
3) OBDII test including readiness?
4) tailpipe sniff test
5) do you "know a guy"?

lot of unanswered stuff here.

Default if they don't run any of those tests I mentioned, then what do they do to inspect the car?
you should be fine if they're that lenient

Default not in VA.. they don't do smog test but look for cats
They do smog test in northern VA/DC but all other areas of the state only look at your exhaust system to be sure you have cats installed. Most shop guys are smart enough to spot test pipes when they see them. Be careful.. some places might call the police for test pipes.

no, here in pa they do all that stuff, i'm screwed, if awe does inspection i'd be good
