I'm afraid to chip my car
#23
Similar situation, I took the plunge two weeks ago, at 126,000 miles.
Went with an MTM chipped ECU from the classifieds, chose the more conservative chip for the reliability, though I guess if I was that concerned I'd return to the stock ECU.
Induktion had already hooked me up with SAMCO TBB and 710Ns. Vast Performance supplied and Pro Imports installed piggie pipes.
Now the car has a lot more torque although it is a little less smooth than stock. I think you'll be fine - I hope I am! It's like having a new car.

Chipping is very bad.. My car has 112K been chipped since 6K, will likely explode soon!
It is getting pretty bad for me. I stand on the street corner with a piece of cardboad, so I can get enough money to get a new race gas chip. Lol!

Don't play if you can't pay.
Seriously, if you can't afford a turbo repair/replace, don't test the waters.
While you might be safe for many thousands of miles, at the same time, you may not.
As much as I miss my S4, I don't miss the paranoia.
