Default intake questions...

Ok, I know that most of us think that a "cold-air" intake doesn't do much for performance. However, my friend just put one (a Neuspeed) on his chipped GTi 1.8T. The diverter valve sound is incredible! It's just like a blow-off valve turned down a few notches. He has a Bailey (as I do), by the way. So, the question is which intake have people had the best luck with (cost, sound, performance, fit, ect.)? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Steve

Default I like the one sold by evoms. (CHAOSAZ would you like to comment?)

I've seen dyno reports done in front of me as well as the sound is pretty killer! And it's a perfect fit that keeps the stock appearance. (Ie airbox top and sides)

http://www.evoms.com</a

Default Did somebody ring :) Here is what I think about the setup.....

I love it. It actually makes power, both torque and hp. EVO even did a dyno run with my car to show me where it works. The power bands of both the tq and hp shifted out, gained, accros the entire dyno pull compared to just the stock intake mode. I stand behind their product 100%. I think the EVO intake is the only one that has cold hard dyno numbers.

If you are in AZ drop me an email, I'm in Tucson, but frequent up to Phoenix on the weekends.

How's the sound from the DV's? It's strange, but that's important to me, too.... Thanks for info!

Default They make a slight fluttering noise when full boost is in effect. I like it, you notice....

it with the windows down. It isn't loud. Most people don't even notice it in my car. The intake also allows you to hear the turbos spool up. That is the best part. You can hear the slight whine of them as they spool up. I love the system. Email me for some further numbers regarding dyno power.

Default I still think this one looks cool...

They claim high numbers on the dyno, but everyone seems to flame the design....

https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/453550.phtml</a

I've heard first hand that these things don't work.
