Interesting, just got this from Audi.
Fast Off the Line: The 2004 A6 2.7 T S Line
Introducing the 2004 A6 2.7 T S Line. Debuting at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the A6 2.7 T S Line is another example of how Audi is turning up the heat on the performance front. And we're not just talking special badging and nine-spoke 18" wheels. With 15 more horses, the biturbo engine now puts a stout 265 hp into breathtaking play. Factor in quattroŽ all-wheel drive, a road-reading four-link front Sport suspension and it's easy to see what all the excitement is about. |
now give it some A6 4.2 wide fenders and a lip spoiler and now we are talking
i'd bet the 15hp is invisible. maybe they used 93 instaed of 91. lol. and dont' all A6's havea 4 link front just like A4s do? i think its cool they are keeping the 2.7T engine.
Saw a dealer notice about that when I got my car in late Sept.
Agreed. 15 HP isn't much to brag about.
I think the "sport" aspect of the suspension is what they were touting.
All Euro S4's have always had 265 hp (6-sp only), so I don't see that as any major breakthrough...
However all Euro A6 2.7t only got 230 hp. Now that the 2.7 is only available on the A6 platform, perhaps Audi won't feel bad by turning the hp back up to what it should have been.
I know someone who just ordered one... wants to drive it back to back with my S4...
I tried explaining that mine isn't stock - I guess no words will be needed though.
Audi knows the 2.7 t is an engine to be played with...
that's why they are kicking it back out there to the A6 boys - Most people who buy an A6 are pretty mature ;-) So I don't see much in the way od big Mods from them boys - I see chips and so on - but still it's a good engine - hopefully they fix the stuff that normally breaks quick
Look out tuners! Audi is "turning up the heat on the performance front"!!!
I wonder if they do it with software or hardware, and if it's tranferable to ours.........
Audi parts....Audi warranty !! True, 15hp isn't much, but it's something.
