Default IPP intercooler test question?

What shrouds were used for the test?

I seem to have missed this part of the posts and can't find it.

If the stock shrouds were used it seems that it would only funnel air to a stock cross section of the IPP intercooler and block air from the rest of it. Effectively making them only cool on a stock size cross section?

If no shrould was used then it would seem that the additional directed air flow would help the stock coolers!?

Was this covered and I am just missing it somewhere?

Seems like each intercooler NEEDS the right size shroud to be tested correctly.

Default The IPP's cross section is the same size as the stockers, so they use stock shrouds. (updated)

The difference is that they are deeper.

Alright, here are some pictures:

Default i've seen them in person too.......The shrouds screw into the sides of the IC's exactly the same.

There are no charge rows that are excluded from the airflow created by the shroud.

Default You must have a different set then. I just tried the other night to put stock shrouds on an IPP and

they are too small. Their site shows that you must heat and stretch the shrouds to fit. (which would seem to make a poor fit to me).

Does anyone have the exact measurements of the stock frontal area vs. the IPP?

Default I heated and streched my stock shrouds for the IPPs...not too big a deal

They appeared to direct airflow reasonably well, but then again, my IPPs haven't seemed to work well with the higher pressure from RS6 hybrids. I installed them at the same time as the IPPs, so I don't have any before/after logs for the stockers and 'brids.
