just back from Buttonwillow/ACNA event
I attended the track event that Audi Club put together and had a blast. I unfortunately had to come back early because of work, but I got 5 sessions of about 30-35 minutes each on the track. There were mostly audis, but also a few porsches and miatas. I got to ride with an instructor in his B6 S4 and I got to chase Pat around for about a lap in his super fast (and loud) black sedan. It was safe and fun which reminds me that all of you that should have gone and didnt go are fegs. I got to meet some other B5ers and see some cool *classic* audis... I even got chased by a chick in a 20V sport coupe which spun right in front of me after letting her pass on the front straight.
I got a chance to test some new mods and I am very happy how they performed. The best mod Ill have to say is the Stasis differentials. When coming out of low speed tight turns and flooring it, I can feel a TON more weight being transfered to the rear than before, thus minimizing, if not, eliminating front and inside wheel spinning. I feel that with overpowered cars, both differentials are basically *required* to be able to utilize all the extra juice.
The Stasis motorsport suspension felt superb, but would have been better with slightly higher spring rates.
I also tried the Stasis motorsport brakes on the track for the first time and with the sbs pro-race pads I didnt feel any fading at all even after a hard 45 minute session. In comparison to my old stoptechs, at Laguna with pagid RS4-4 (orange), the last few laps of a 30 min session would show some brake fading.
I was running a basically new set of 225 RA1s and I just realized that there is no tread left. Amazingly, it is not that the tire is completely worn out, but the tread grooves are full of tire buggers.
I would highly rec the ACNA events for those that are interested in tracking their car.
There is an event at laguna at the end of next week.

http://www.audiclubna.org/calendar/</a

Wow, that sounds amazing. I wish I had the $$$ for those mods, especially the diff(s).
Everytime I've gone to the track, they have 20-25 min sessions. Have all of your events been around 30-45 like that?

It was good to see you again!
It was good to see everyone else too; an all around terrific event thanks to Joseph and others. Sorry you had to head back to work today, we had lots of track time and had an absolute blast! See you soon.
