Just back from Iraq.....stereo is in safe mode and the security code won't work - what to do???

Just back from Iraq.....stereo is in safe mode and the security code won't work - what to do???
Car was in storage while I was gone and the battery died. Got it replaced and the Blose is in safe mode. I've used the code successfully before, and have never changed the stereo. Ideas?
Dealer said it'd be $105 to "hook up the diagnostic tool and download the code from Audi"....do I call BS, or am I screwed? TIA

Blame, and then kill Mr. Bin Ladin? (I really don't care about the proper spelling of this A-hole).
I think you just have to wait a bit for the Safe Mode to be disabled now that you have a battery with power? I may be wrong.

the only way to get it out of safe mode without a code is the stealer...
they quoted me $100 to get the code. Maybe they will give you a break and do it for free. Welcome back.

I believe you can call AOA
and give them your SN on the radio if you can take it out. If your file is on record with them, they should be able to give you the disarm code.
Can't someone disarm it with a VAG?

his code doesn't work...
haven't heard the 10 minute thing. iirc, you have to hold down 2 buttons on the radio then it lets you enter the code. If you enter it incorrectly 3 times you have to leave the radio turned on for an hour before it will let you enter the code again.
