This just in...ER soon to offer ALMS wheel in 19".

The TT ALMS wheel is very similar to the RS4, but not identical. Weight is a little high at one meeelion pounds per wheel, but I'm still psyched. I got in on the power buy for the 18s, but I might super size instead.

19" RS4 replicas --------->

These have been available for a few months from Performance Alloys out of the UK (www.performancealloys.com).

19x8, 28lbs, ET35 offset, includes OE center cap (with proper fitment), $1,399 including shipping to the US!

I purchased my silver OZ SLs from Performance Alloys and would recommend them.

Those are the ALMS wheels actually.

potAto ... potAHto

ALMS wheels are most often referred to as RS4-style, since that 9-spoke design first appeared on the RS4. In Europe they call them RSTT wheels when describing the 5x100 fitment (for A3/S3, TT, etc).

Most US tuners (here and abroad) have come to calling them RS4 Replicas, even in non-RS4 sizes like 17" and 19". ;-)

I've heard pretty sketchy things about their replicas

pshawww :P

you get my last email? I need to move forward on that project right away. Let me know ASAP please :)

Krisko 04-29-2003 05:14 PM

Wasn't this already hashed out?

You and Max@ER went through it and both agreed that the quality is fine. I've heard you are buying ALMS replicas from ER. Now if the quality is really that bad, why are you buying them?

When a tuner bashes other tuners, it generally makes the basher look bad in my opinion. I'm generally all for salesmen on a board like this if they offer genuine advice and opinions not tied to their own bottom line.

D'oh!

I did get your email, and formulated a response ... but likely didn't send it. *blush*

I'll whip 'em up and get 'em out. One setback was that I went back and looked at doing the images using official Audi and VW press photos for each vehicle, instead of the customer cars. And, unlike what I'd done previously, the thumbnails would be a total view of the original image, just resized to work. I still think the customer rides are a more personal touch.

PA offers two types of RS4 Replica ----->

Not sure of the difference in quality, or if they're manufactured by different companies, but they list two types of RS4 Rep and you can see some visual variances.

I can't speak to the quality, just know they offer a 19" Rep. Not trying to redirect bidness from a favored US tuner. ;-)

I'm not bashing ER at all!!!! (read my post again please)

the wheels that ROB O posted are from performance Alloys NOT edge Racing. The ONLY issue I had with ER was that I pointed out that they are not a true RS4 replica instead they are an ALMS TT wheel replica. They are HIGH quality and I recommend them if you are looking for a TT ALMS replica wheel. Yes I have one set of the ALMS wheels on order for a TT owner. ER is a good business and I speak highly of them!
