Re: Just out of curiosity, but how could you fit a K16 into a K03 housing
i dont actually have the 14b compressor wheel in front of me, but from what i remember, although the inducer is smaller than the K16, the radius is such that the housing doesnt have enough thickness to machine it out
honestly, all i was saying about the K16 wheel was that those options are out there...but the larger majority of people still want to go with the full K04 |
i would honestly like to know who this is...even if you want to email it too me
but throwing the assy. on the balancer is going to do just that...balance the wheel/assy. It is not going to have an effect on the efficiency of the compressor wheel

I think that's what Garrett does with their turbos.
|
Huh? We don't advertise 390whp with our kit, but there are several people who have posted dynos
showing about what the 440hp which we currently claim at the crank, (some more, some less). Search the archives before making a comment like that.

Exactly... On a T66 or something, the process might be much more beneficial, but negligible on a
tiny K04...
|
i dont see how this process is exponentially effective with size that it wouldnt matter on a K04....
an increase in efficeincy is an increase in efficiency.
|
Sure, but the power gain will be greater on a larger turbo
For examples sake, say a single K04 is good for ~240hp flow wise(efficiently), and you pick up say 3-5% efficiency(I dont know how much you really do pick up), you have the potential to make +/- 8-12hp more, but on a large turbo, say a T66 which I think can make ~700hp, you could see 30-40+HP gain...
I think even 5% is a high number, I can see maybe 2-3%... But look at the cost-entry point for such little gains. |
he just told me that he has the tools to measure to the .001
and the turbo needs to be balanced and things of that nature.
He said it's well worth it for a bigger turbo as he does it for the RX7 guys all the time for their big turbo upgrades... it also ensures that you have a "perfect" turbo in your possession. The name of the company is Turbo Power. Don't have their number on hand but I'm sure you could find it. |
thanks!!!

Did some today and saw an average of 3.92 sec.
255/35/19 tires, full tank of 93 octane, full interior, and 260lbs me.
