I have the 18x8.5" Technos with 235 40 18 Yoko AVS, looks like it might be ok in the rear with me lowering it only slightly, like 1" in the rear and 3/4" in the front, but has anyone done this?

I'm lower than that, with the same size wheels and tires...
You should have no issue in the rear, but most likely you will have to roll the front fenders. I can recommend a good place to have this done, or I can loan you my baseball bat. ;-)
Actually, I did roll my fenders more with a baseball bat, so that these 255/40/17 Kumho track tires would fit.
Corey S

Another detail....
Yeah, well, they look ok. Actually, you couldn't tell when Jack Perkins did it, except on the inside. My hacking didn't come out as pretty, but it works. I'm sure I could do a mild rolling without any cosmetic effects.
The other thing that you'll need to watch for is the tire rubbing the plastic wheel well liner. That is actually the first thing that will interfere with your tire. I ended up removing (cutting out) a bunch of it. You could probably carefully heat it up and form fit it to the fender a little better.
Corey S
