Kum and Go Adds E85 to West Des Moines and Clear Lake
Iowa Now Hosts 32 Stations Offering E85

JOHNSTON, Iowa - Apr 24, 2006 - The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association (IRFA) today congratulated Kum and Go for adding Clear Lake and West Des Moines to their list of E85 stations. Kum and Go also offers E85 at a station in Ankeny and Ames.

While a grand opening event will be scheduled later, Iowans can now purchase E85 at the Kum and Go story located at 141 S. Jordan Creek Parkway in West Des Moines. This is Kum & Go's second E85 pump in the greater Des Moines area.

The Clear Lake Kum and Go station, at 2905 4th Ave. South, is holding a grand opening E85 celebration on April 25th from 9 am to 3 pm. During this time, E85 will be sold for only 85 cents per gallon. Discounts on food and beverages will also be available.

Lucy Norton, with the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association, will present Kum and Go with a $20,000 grant from the Iowa Values Fund Renewable Fuels Infrastructure program to help offset the expense of installing the E85 pump. Golden Grain Energy, an ethanol refinery near Mason City, will have board members on hand to help pump E85 and hand out literature.

There are now 32 E85 stations throughout Iowa and a complete list of stations can be found on the IRFA website at: http://www.iowarfa.org/E85Refueling.php.

"Kum and Go continues to be a leader in E85," stated Lucy Norton, IRFA Managing Director. "With four E85 stations statewide, they offer the only two E85 options in the greater Des Moines area. We appreciate Kum and Go's commitment to bringing the choice of E85 to more Iowans."

The IRFA is helping expand E85 and biodiesel access by administering the Iowa Values Fund Infrastructure Program, which provides cost-share grants to install E85 fueling infrastructure and biodiesel storage facilities. A total of $325,000 has been allocated annually for three years to expand the availability of E85 and biodiesel to Iowans. The deadline to submit an application for the next approval period is June 15. For an application or further information, contact Lucy Norton at the IRFA office at 515-225-9242 or info@IowaRFA.org.

The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association was formed in 2002 to represent the state's liquid renewable fuels industry. The trade group fosters the development and growth of the renewable fuels industry in Iowa through education, promotion, legislation and infrastructure development.

Default wow...are you kidding me? that was a promotion...that doesn't mean anything...you just said

that gas was $.85 cents, not that there was a promotion. There have been plenty of times when places have done promotions giving away gas....so, I was right. E-85 will never be that cheap WITHOUT A PROMOTION...so maybe you should mention the fact that it was a promotion...
